I've been delighted to curate the Spring Show at the Keate Family Arts Trust. It’s been a joy selecting work, and in the process introducing a host of new artists to the space and collection.
The show features over 50 artworks, ranging from textiles and sculpture, to painting, drawing and prints. It is a celebration of nature and creativity, bringing together works by 13 local artists in harmony with a snap-shot of the Trust collection, including original prints by Patrick Heron, John Piper and Gertrude Hermes. Embracing 7 Trafalgar Road as a characterful domestic space, the exhibition also plays on founder David Keate’s habit of hanging work in less conventional ways, including from the ceiling and his bookshelves.
I hope that the range of works included will prove to contain something for everyone, and leave visitors uplifted, with their own thoughts on how the art we choose to surround ourselves with can make us feel all year round.
